As you can see from the pictures to the left and below,

the rave culture/experiences have definitely changed from the 1980's. The way people acted, dressed, and even danced has changed. Many people back then were for the late teens to mid 20's. As where todays raves, some have made it from 16 & up! I personally think that is crazy because of the high exposure and use of drugs, and bad behaviors that go on throughout the raves. From starting out in small club houses in the 1980's to increasing in different locations in California, Colorado, Iowa, and Michigan. They have became a major attraction to the youth and young adults.
Raves Fashion then vs Now
The raving cultures fashion is very much different today then the fashion about 20+ years ago. Back then it was more clothes that covered the body and actual "style." Unlike the "style" or fashion today. You see girls today in bikinis and many other inappropriate clothing. Compared to the 1980s you can see that the girls of today in raves want to show off their body more than they want people to listen to the music.
Raves Drug use then vs Now

In Chicago of the 1980's was mainly acid such as LSD, crack and cocaine, which stimulate your body. Today at raves like in California, or Las Vegas, the drug use is very high and the main drug is ecstasy which also stimulates your body. Since the drug use is so high today in 2015 and 2016, there have been more reports of deaths in the festivals. Recently in a festival called Hard summer there were 49 people who were transported by ambulance according to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center. This just shows how dangerous Raves have become since the 1980s where club owners could control their clubgoers with the drug use. They provided bottled water and sports drinks to manage hyperthermia and dehydration. They even gave out pacifiers to prevent involuntary teeth clenching.
Raves have definitely changed over time from their fashion, to the different groups of people, and the different use of drugs.
