EDM?

 You are probably wondering what EDM truly is. EDM isn't just one genre of music. It is an umbrella term for anything electronic music. Their are many different types or subgenres that have evolved from the term EDM. There is Electro, Dubstep, Trance, Drum and Bass, Hardstyle, Trap, house, and many others that have originated from the combinations I've listed.

What Are My Favorite?

I have many favorite subgenres of EDM, but I'm only going to list a few of them!

Electro-

Electro music is one of my favorites. Electro songs usually never have vocals and when they do they are either distorted or added with tons of effect on them. I love listening to this music when I'm working out because it is great pump up music. Electro is short for electro funk or electro boogie and it was influenced by the TR-808 drum machines and funk sampling.

House-

House music is my go to music when I wanna relax or to even just to listen with my friends and be happy. It originated in the 80's in Chicago and from that my two other favorite evolved from house which is, progressive house and deep house. Progressive House is said to be the most "human" sound music of all genres. It is in the top 40 hits of today and is used for a more happy positive vibe. It has many vocals in every song and mostly has melodic drops. Deep House mixes elements of Chicago house, jazz funk, and Detroit techno. It usually has more of a dark and slow emotional feel to the songs. I listen to deep house when I want to think but at the same time have fun thinking while I'm at it. 

Bounce-

Bounce music has slowly made its way to my number 1 music that I listen to on the daily. I have mixed Melbourne bounce music with other types of bounce music too because of how much I've fell in love with this type of EDM. It is made with minimal bass off beats. Sometimes with catchy vocals and melodies but then has a monster drop. It originated from a movement of hard dance music followers. This explains the big drops you would hear if you are to listen to it. I usually listen to this music when I'm driving with friends or alone and while I am working out.
